Foraging Grand Rapids 05/16/26

$35.00

Spring foraging is some of the best foraging there is to be done. We’ve just wrapped up an intense and long season of hiding inside and we’re all ready to get outside and start eating fresh food once more.

Foraging is a healthy way to engage with the natural world that involves movement, fresh air, and best of all, food.

This class will be meeting at the covered picnic area near the playground at Ken-o-sha park on Saturday May 16th at 3:30 pm and will last approximately 2.5 hours. Park is on Kenosha park drive off of Kalamazoo Ave.

During this class we will cover:

  • edible and medicinal plants

  • foraging rules and ethics

  • invasive species

  • Cooking methods

  • Landscapes and where to find certain plants

  • How to collect plants and fungi

  • Calendar of plants and times for collection

All kids 12 and under are free to attend so long as they do not disturb the other students while they are learning.
